The most plausible idea I can think of, would be that he became a volatile, then was killed immediatly after exiting (which I find unlikely to happen) and recovered by the GRE who would've found the cure research on him. They never show or say he gave it to someone else or that he hid it somewhere) so if he became a volatile, wouldnt that mean that the infection would have just spread from where he escaped to in the final scene? Without the cure being found on him Am I correct to assume this is Zere's cure? And if so, that means that it's unlikely that the canon ending is the nuke one as that would've destroyed the cure researchīut the other ending doesnt make a whole lotta sense either. I'm (what I'm guessing is) about halfway through DL2, so if its explained later on, please just say that without spoiling itīut, from the intro of DL2, it says that the cure was taken and used.
